Santiago, January 19, 2012.-A new vessel for the carrying of chemicals, called Bow Andes, was delivered to Odjfell y Vapores S.A, a subsidiary of Compañía Sud Americana de Vapores (CSAV), which operates in Chile and abroad, carrying mainly sulfuric acid.
The Bow Andes is 139 meters long, has a carrying capacity of 16,020 MT and will operate mainly along the west coast of South America under the management of SouthernShipmanagement(Chile) Ltda.
The new chemicals vessel, implying an investment of US$ 12 million, was delivered at Long Beach, United States, and will replace the Bow Pacífico.
Odjfell y Vapores S.A. is a CSAV subsidiary that is mainly dedicated to the purchase, sale, chartering and general management of ships, and the operation of shipping lines along the Pacific coast, between Chile and Colombia. It is headquartered in Santiago and was formed in 1997 as a joint venture between Odfjell oil tankers and Compañía Sud Americana de Vapores (CSAV).
