Intermodal 2010 South America

More than 45,000 visitors and an exhibition area of 28,000m²
Edition of March 16, 2010

The numbers are impressive: the 16th annual Intermodal South America, (April 6–8, 2010), will have some 490 exhibitors, more than 45,000 visitors and an exhibition area of 28,000m² (2.8 hectares). One factor attracting attention in this success story is Intermodal’s capacity not only to establish loyalty among exhibitors and visitors but also to continue to attract new companies and professionals from the sector.

Illustrating this are more than 40 companies exhibiting at Intermodal South America for the first time this year – including: Ardelt, Axle Tech International, Bayern International, Community4you, Dachser, EBCO Systems, Gelog GPLN, Gross Cargo, Locar Guindastes, Logistics Council Germany, Moeda Agenciamento de Cargas, Racional, Repom, Steelbro Sventruck AB, Trans-China, Trans Falls and Transportadora Americana. These swell the range of products and services offered at Intermodal even further – adding additional value to the event for both visitors and exhibitors.

Meanwhile, a large number of traditional exhibitors continue to take part after 16 years of success with Intermodal: they include ABSA, ALL, CMA CGM, Columbia, Craft, Deicmar, DHL, Grupo Libra, Hamburg Süd, Júlio Simões, LLX, Localfrio, Lufthansa, Maersk, Marimex, MRS, MSC, Panalpina, Santos Brasil, TAM Cargo, Tecondi, Termares, TNT, Tropical and Vale, and numerous ports in Brazil and worldwide.

The same holds true for Intermodal’s universe of some 45,000 visitors and congress attendees. A survey after Intermodal 2009 showed more than 17,000 professionals for the sector were visiting the event for the first time, 14,800 had visited Intermodal between one and three times before, and 13,200 had visited Intermodal a total of four or five times.

These figures show not only the event’s capacity to hold existing exhibitors and visitors and bring in new ones, they also reflect two of the key reasons for so much success – Intermodal’s profile as a platform for developing new business, and networking, and the propitious environment for exchange of ideas through the conference program, which brings together some of the greatest experts in the market.

Hence Intermodal’s importance: through the exchange of experience created by the content program, and through its expansion of business networks for individuals and companies, it creates the possibility of new ways forward, new partnerships and new business for both exhibitors and visitors.

Intermodal brings together the whole product and service chain involved in cargo transport – and with the multimodal concept it spotlights discussion on the roles of the various elements of the transport and logistics matrix and how to bring them together to best advantage, both in Brazil and internationally. It fosters new business by bringing together supply and demand – the principal players in transport, logistics and trade. Visitors also include shippers from practically all the economic sectors, who take part in Intermodal seeking the best logistics solutions for their cargo.
