Coquimbo looks to compensate workers

SEP have had meetings with port workers in respect of compensation and pension payments
Edition of February 06, 2012

With just months remaining before operations at the Chilean port of Coquimbo are transferred to the Ultramar group, officials of the Public Companies Organisation (SEP) have had meetings with port workers in respect of compensation and pension payments.

The government stresses that resources are "limited" and that only workers who have been in the port for at least four years are eligible.

Demands put forward by the workers have so far been rejected as unrealistic.
