Chilean Company sends first shipment of 18 Trailers to Panamá

Contopsa successfully shipped the Chassis (Terminal Trailers), completing the first shipment of 18 trailers, bidding process which was awarded last September for more than US$ 1 million.

The terminal trailers are designed specifically for port operations and are vital for the transportation of containers to and from vessels. Their main characteristic is their strong  and can support cargo up to 60 tons, allowing easy movements that guarantee fast and efficient loading and discharging operations, required at modern ports of the world.

This shipment was delivered and received by Panama Port Co. on their facilities at Balboa Port commencing the 3rd December at Panama.  Contopsa participated together with European and American companies in this bidding. The transportation of these units was effected by the shipping line Maersk Sealand, on the hired vessel "Lobivia" for the service between San Antonio and Balboa, on this shipment the chassis were bundled in three and were stowed in bays above deck by Maersk Sealand. “We are very satisfied as a Company, and this shows our international and diverse capacity in business to compete with other Companies of different countries.”, highlighted Francis McCawley, general manager for Containers Operators S.A.

This Project was generated and developed by Contopsa´s continuous search for new markets and leader positions in this area.  This project was materialized thanks to the performance of Projects Manager Rimsky Pavlov.

The next delivery and final for this Project that reaches US$ 1,047,516 is the 5th of January 2004, 23 units to complete the 41 Terminal Trailers requested in the bidding.
